go-to vanilla simple syrup recipe
a few years ago i started making my own simple syrups & i haven’t stopped! it sounds fancy, but is sooo easy. & it instantly elevates your at-home coffee game! vanilla bean syrup is a classic so here’s my go-to recipe that makes for a delicious & easy iced vanilla latte, added to matcha, or even drizzled over pancakes or waffles!
first, a moment of silence for my favorite spot in our kitchen - the * beverage nook *. here’s a blog with links to allll my coffee essentials!
the key to an amazing vanilla simple syrup is a quality vanilla bean paste - i’ve tried so many & this is my favorite! there’s a smaller version if you don’t wanna go jumbo like i do lol also Trader Joe’s releases an organic vanilla bean paste every fall that is very comparable to this one so i always buy a dozen of those because they sell out fast.
ingredients
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla bean paste
1 tsp vanilla extract
recipe
add water + sugar to a small saucepan over medium heat, & stir until combined
once the sugar melts, add the vanilla bean paste + vanilla extract
simmer & stir until it thickens a bit (just a few minutes)
let cool & transfer to a glass jar like this one or this one!
store at room temp for about 2 weeks, or longer in the fridge :) cheers!
